Credentials Naughty America Launches Face Recognition Site
The ol’ face-recognition technology pops up every couple of years and seems to always focus on the adult industry as its target outlet for distribution. Cherry first saw demos for this technology at Mobile Content World back in 2004. The idea was you took a picture of yourself with you new-fangled camera-phone and then super-impose the head part into an adult movie and voila – you were now in a porn movie!
This particular application of the technology is different, but still demonstrates a nice marketing strategy and good brand immersion for Naughty America. It’s worth keeping in mind though that if NA customers come into the services looking for content and movies, will they make use of this additional, ‘non-self-pleasuring’ feature or will they just focus on getting to the ‘good stuff’?
And therefore, does the added brand value this technology aims to supply encourage more subscriptions and justify what it costs to develop?
